We won't be editing PEOPLE LIKE YOU on Tuesday, but rather on Thursday at my place where we have better equipment and better editing equipment.

So instead, bring your laptops and assemble your BEHIND THE SCENES videos you shot last Tuesday. Those of you who couldn't make it, bring along your own laptops and work on your own projects as the workshop is intended.

Our Production is in the can

Weren't we just so lucky to get these three young actors for our first ever production. It also taught us that there is much more to making movies than expected. I was extremely pleased with the group getting involved and coming up with suggestions. It'll be fun editing this film.

Here is a trailer for it:

Well done everybody and many thanks for being part of it.

Next Meeting - Tuesday 11.00am

Hi Everyone,

Are we ready for action on Tuesday? Lark, Nathan and Trae, our talent arrive for the shoot of PEOPLE LIKE YOU. Le and I have been playing with the sound recording equipment, Le purchased at great expense, only to find out that it didn't work, Speaking to the supplier in Sydney, they think we were give a faulty wireless microphone and they have despatched a new one Express Post on Thursday afternoon, so hopefully it arrives on Monday, ready for the shoot.

Last Tuesday we had some problems laying out the set so we didn't have any rails, whiteboard, kitchenette in the shots. I think the layout below will work. especially the TV on the wall will be displaying the name of the cafe and the menu, making it look more realistic for a cafe scene.

The only worry I have is, will we be able to shoot all 50 scenes in 90 minutes? I hope so.

Don't forget, to bring your cameras and shoot Behind the Scenes clips.

Getting Ready for Action

We had our tech rehearsal today for next week's shoot of PEOPLE LIKE YOU. Just as well as we had a few problems turning the meeting room into a coffee shop, but I think we have it sorted, ready for our three young actors, LARK LEE (Isabelle), NATHAN HEDGER (David) and TRAE ROBIN (Will). Cameraman Le and myself will have another meeting at my place to get better acquainted with the Canon cameras and the sound recording equipment.

Sheila took a couple of shots from today's meeting.

Roy demonstrates his camera slider which we'll use in the production

We would like everybody not directly involved in the shoot, to film a "Behind the Scene" segment. We can edit those in future meetings.

LET'S HVE FUN NEXT WEEK.

Tuesday 6 October 2015

First MeetingOur first

Hi Everyone,

We had our first meeting this morning. members brought along short videos for us to enjoy.

Then we got down to discuss our first project. With the help of a group of local amateur actors, we're going to shoot a short film PEOPLE LIKE YOU, written by Anjali Warland. It's a play in one act, playing in a restaurant, where a young couple have an argument involving the waiter.

So we're planning to transform our library meeting room (or at least one corner) into a coffee shop.

So, next Tuesday we are having a Tech Run, which means we're going through each scene, setting up camera angles, rehearse the scenes (minus the actors) and generally get everything ready for the proper shoot.

First Production Meeting
So, please can everybody bring along the props we discussed to transform a corner of the meeting room into a cafeteria.
